Microsoft releases Open Source code to join Open Source biz

Microsoft has been active in joining the Open Source bandwangon in the last few days with two release within days of each other. But only for those codes that is of $$ interest to Microsoft. The first one was to ensure Linux is able to run effectively on the MS Virtualisation software, and the current one for adding a plugin for MS products to 'Moodle'.

No complaints though - and looking at this, it is a virtual admission by MS that the Open Source apps are to be reckoned with and cannot be ignored :-)

Microsoft has made its second release under the General Public License in two days with software for the open-source online learning system Moodle.

Microsoft released the Live Services Plug-in for Moodle under the GPLv2, a community manager for Microsoft's Platform Strategy Group.

The plug-in adds Microsoft's Live@edu services such as e-mail, calendar, instant messaging and search directly into the Moodle user experience and makes them available via single sign-on.
